GET INVOLVED

So you want to get involved? So you want to help build our future together with yours? There are a number of ways we can work together.

Join Us. If you are not already a member find out how you can become one.

Gain a qualification to start your career in logistics and transport. Or supplement your industry knowledge and skills by focusing on Continuous Professional Development. Learn with us through our training programmes & qualifications.

Use us to find a new job. Many fellow members have used the Institute’s network and database to develop their careers. Vacancies and job adverts are made available by the Institute on the individual country websites. Networking and joining up with other members enables you to explore career options and to be ready for that opportunity when it arises.

Volunteer to help in your local Institute. There are a variety of ways you can get directly involved in our members activities. Look out for special interest groups or regional chapters. Be prepared to share your experiences and knowledge and you will gain much in return. We need committed and energetic volunteers prepared to take the lead in our Young Professional  and Women in Logistics and Transport groups or participate on our Councils, committees and best practice groups. Go to your country website to find out more.

Set up an Institute branch in a country or territory where we haven’t one. If you are interested in setting up a branch in your country find out more by contacting our International Secretary General.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
Young Professionals (YPs) are the future of our industry. Through our YP network we aim to allow our younger members to engage fully with our membership, access our experience and seek out advice from a wide array of perspectives.

However, we must not just ask ourselves what we can teach our younger members, but what we can learn from them. Engagement with social media and other platforms, as well as technology in general is critical to anyone working within our industry. We must look to harness these emerging skillsets to ensure we remain effective and relevant in a changing world.

In his inaugural speech International President Kevin Byrne called for the Institute to realise the value and potential of our Young Professional groups:
We must not just enable today’s leaders but nuture tomorrow’s
